GoodStayed with partner
The hotel is value for money but dated and only complaint is that they have a wardrobe but no coat hangers.
Also, room has no mirror in bedroom.

GoodStayed with family · For leisure
The property has a unique theme and interior design focusing on Kapitan history. It's location is fairly out of the way from the historical portion of Melaka city, and would require a car ride to reach. Parking may be limited as the property is located in a shoplot. Outside of the hotel are a few restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores, all within walking distance.
Both check in and out were fine, the receptionists were courteous and friendly. There was no lift access to the upstairs rooms, the only access is via a pair of narrow stairways.
The rooms left a lot to be desired. While the overall cleanliness was acceptable, some parts of the room did not look clean, suggesting that the housekeeping needs improvement. In one of the rooms, the carpet felt like it needed a good vacuuming, while in another, the tissue box was not refilled. Sheets and pillowcases were fortunately spotless, and the beds comfortable. The available appliances were basic, with a mini fridge, kettle, telephone, tv, and cups provided, although the kettles were rather old, and should be replaced. The disproportionately huge bathroom was for the most part clean, but the toilet units were old, stained, and yellowing. The water heater for some reason also heats up the bathroom sink. The toilet paper rolls were placed too far away from the toilet which is an inconvenience. Basic toiletries were provided, including soap, toothbrushes, room slippers.

GoodStayed with friends
The accommodation was located at a really nice area, with bustling nightlife (but not the crazy loud music type) and nice small dessert cafes to chill at. If you are a fan of bubble tea, you will be spoilt for choices as there’s one shop every 20m.
Hotel is a heritage hotel, nice traditional decor if you are a fan of those. However, bedsheets had quite a bit of hair and ants when we checked in. The nice receptionist helped us change to a new room. A couple strands of hair were still found on the bed, but manageable by sweeping them off. However, there were still quite a fair bit of ants and we swept them off. The next day upon returning back to the hotel, the ants were back so we suspect it’s a building issue.
Location is fairly near to Jonker street. Grab can be cheap during non peak. A nice slow stroll back in the evening takes you around 30-40min, good for digesting the yummy meals in Melaka!

GoodStayed with family
I chose this hotel, even though it is further away from the city, because they claimed on their listing that they provide "free area shuttle". However, we had to "Grab" everywhere we go because the vehicle was at the workshop for servicing (in all the 3 days we were there). If that is the case, they should have made alternative arrangements for the guests instead! The restaurant serves good food though, especially the chendol. Area around property is very deserted, not much action except for the popular bubble-tea joint next door attracting so many customers (initially, I thought it was a pub).
