Stayed with partner

The room was cleaned with modern furniture, spacious, the spa had a spacious jacuzzi and a lovely swimming pool as well as sauna and steam room. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel, staff friendly and helpful. We used the pool and it was great, bedroom was refurbished clean and comfy beds. The breakfast was disappointing, they stopped serving at 9am, we arrived down to breakfast at 8.30am 2 adults and 2 9 year olds. We all wanted a full English breakfast but when we asked of the eggs, mushrooms and bacon were bring filled up as they were pretty much empty....we was told no because it was the end of service....there was still 30 mins to go. Plenty of other people coming in for breakfast and we had paid for something we couldn't have.

Booked because there is a pool and my wife wanted to use this for exercise before breakfast and a long drive home. Told not to take towels from the room for the pool when we checked in as there are towels provided for that in the pool/gym. When going to the pool in the morning, -No towels in the pool so, we were told to go and get towels from our room. I asked if one of the three people on the desk could get some from house keeping to save us the 5 minutes running up to the room and back (lift slow and quite busy on a sunday morning understandably room was the other end of the building). Told no and they don't have any towels left in the at all. Surprised that between 3 personnel on a reception desk not one had the ability to grab a couple of towels for a customer. Bed good, room good, and clean/modern hotel though. With towels at the pool would be even better.

I’ve never thought that they live up to expectations and this hotel wasn’t an exception to the rule, but nothing seriously wrong with the place either. The room was clean and tidy, especially the bathroom. I didn’t have a particularly comfortable sleep so the mattress is probably a little worse for wear and is being masked with a topper. I can’t say I was thrilled with the sight of stagnant water, rubbish and a ten foot high wall as I opened the blinds. The check in scenario left me a bit baffled, there’s 2/3 staff walking you through the process step by step but won’t actually speed up the whole process by doing it for you. After a long day travelling the last thing you (or certainly I) want to be doing is negotiating the check in machine, nothing good about it for me.

Hotel is undergoing renovations so plenty of machinery and workmen. On arrival, advised children cannot use pool as not in kids hour. Whole point of booking this hotel over many others was the pool amenity. This was not clear on booking and even if booking via 3rd party (expedia), it should be accurate for decision making purposes. Staff didn’t want to know. Hotel room lovely, seems recently renovated. Although view poor, a brick wall!
