Loved the location

The parking garage situation is very confusing, as it serves two different Hilton hotels: the Hilton Inn Charlotte-Uptown and Hilton Garden Inn. Coming out of the elevator on level G you have to go to right to find the entrance to the former, which almost blends into the parking garage. Unless you have a cell phone you have no way to access information about the hotel's services/amenities once you're in your room. No paper note pads, no directory of services, etc. Just a QR code on the console that you have to access through your phone's camera. (Come to think of it, I don't remember there being a phone. Nor a clock. And the microwave has no button you can push to zero out the minutes left from its previous use.) Premium channels on the TV require that you sign into your personal account to access them, the process for which is tedious & time-consuming. And there was no ice machine on the 3rd floor where I stayed (or mention of it on the menu I downloaded from the QR code).

Everything was great

The breakfast was awesome. Staff great. The bathroom could use a little for cleaning but nothing gross. Will come back again.

I checked in with my family and waited at the desk for a luggage cart for 45 minutes. Desk staff tried to contact other employees but got no response. Staff said other customers have kept all the carts in there rooms. Finally desk staff walked over to their sister property, Hilton to borrow a cart. Hilton couldn't find any of their luggage carts either. Staff helped us hand carry our luggage to the 3rd floor. I got an email from Hampton the day of check in that parking in their parking garage was an extra $35.00 a day (part of their new and evolving policies) for their customers. They also no longer offer a free shuttle service. My husband is disabled. I wish I knew about these changes from last year's stay here. Free continental breakfast was disappointing. Staff tried their best with what they had to work with. But they ran out of OJ, the waffle maker was broken and they ran out of milk. They no longer clean or empty trashcans in rooms during your stay. Some staff were amazing, (breakfast service, evening desk) others were not, (morning desk).

Great value, very clean, friendly staff. And a very good free breakfast
