We stayed in Room 杉 on with a private open-air bath on April 15, and this was our second time visiting this property—our last stay was about 8 years ago. It was such a joy to return. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. Both meals were absolutely delicious, with the clams being a definite highlight! We also noticed some thoughtful upgrades since our last visit, like the addition of remote-controlled lighting and TV, as well as extra blinds around the private bath area for added privacy. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming throughout our stay. We arrived on a rainy day, and they kindly arranged to pick us up near the bus station, which we really appreciated. It was also a lovely touch that they offer complimentary drinks and snacks in the lobby. On top of that, we received a gift card with our booking, which we enjoyed using at the gift shop. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we would highly recommend this hotel. We’re already looking forward to hopefully returning again in the near future.

We had a private onsen room and it was a Kin-sen ("golden coloured hot spring water"). Temperature was good, and is constantly running. We had dinner and japanese breakfast served to us inside our room. Check out was a bit early at 10am, so that clashed a bit with our late breakfast and trying to get a last bath in while the staff wanted to clean up our breakfast set up at the same time. The massage chair was nice and the futon on the tatami was super comfortable (with choice of pillow). The coffee bar was nice, with some snacks during guest staying hours (after 4pm and before 10am). It's a bit further from the bus station, so didn't explore too much (it was rainy too), but there's a shuttle that's available on request. We had to use a pay phone to call as we had data-only plans. They can also shuttle you from the ropeway or train station. All in all, a nice relaxing and quiet place to unwind and soak in a wonderful onsen.

Amazing stay! Hotel staff very communicative, the ryokan room was beautiful and the private onsen was sooooo nice. Breakfast in the ryokan was delicious too! There is a shuttle bus that can take you to the main area as the ryokan is up a steep slope.

Its a typical traditional onsen ryokan with exceptionally focus on customer service. Only gripe would be you either need a local number or go to the tourist center to request for shuttle service

Solo stay

Staff were helpful and explained everything about the rooms in the ryokan including how to use their jacuzzi shower. you can choose a pillow to suit you and they will deliver to the room. Transport pick up and drop off were also very fast and efficient. Dinner was fabulous! Best beef I had ever eaten!

Amazing experience. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the meal is delicious if you are into traditional Japanese style meal set. We had private spring room and it's really good. One thing to notice is that the hotel needs to confirm some details in advance, like selecting meal time if it's booked. Due to technical problem with hotels.com, they can't receive the response message, so I need to call them directly. I asked my previous hotel front desk to help and it's very smooth. Otherwise you will choose at check in but your preferred time slot might not be available.
