Fantastic

Solo stay

As always, the staff were courteous and helpful, the room was immaculate, great shower, comfortable bed. They don’t advertise well that they have a bar, but I thoroughly recommend it as well as the bistro.

Great location on Road where main sights, lovely library room to relax in, outside space to sit and have a drink, very comfortable bed with good choice of tea and coffee. We parked on park and ride outside centre, should have used the parking at nearby hotel with onsite charging , would have been easier.

Such a lovely hotel with lots of history, 8 minute walk to the town. Beautiful decor and extremely friendly and helpful staff from the reception staff to the bar staff. They upgraded our room for free due to a celebration booking and could not have been more lovely. Thank you!

Staff were very helpful and friendly. However we had several issues with our 4 night stay - the aircon in the first room we were given wasn’t working on the hottest May Day on record. We were moved to another room, but told it was only free for 2 nights. On the second day we asked again and they found us a good room for the remaining 3 nights. The other issue was the bar, which often had nobody serving for long periods, which meant we and others had to go and find someone to serve several times. The bar closed without warning at 10.30 on Friday night, they left no sign to say it was closed, so others came in and waited without knowing. We’ve stayed a few times before, it’s handy for the town, though the parking outside is expensive and quite restricted. We’ll probably consider other hotels in future

We recently had a short 2 night stay and were blown away with the service we received. We booked the deluxe room which was lovely, very quirky retaining some of the features of what appears to be a very old building. We stayed during the heatwave in May and unfortunately had a small issue with the air conditioning which was no doubt working very hard to supply cold air to all rooms.. This was quickly resolved and we were more than satisfied with the response of the staff and in particular Deputy Manager Karolina who was lovely. She went above and beyond in ensuring that we had a lovely stay.. A big shout out to Karolina who is a credit to the Hotel and who showed how customer service should be done..Always service with a smile and very attentive.. Thank you for making our stay so special and one we will remember. The bar was also very quirky in what appeared to be in a cellar, it was lovely with some excellent cocktails.. Breakfast was also lovely.. not your normal full English.. not too much but really good quality. Overall we loved the hotel and our time in Cambridge..

Nice team, great location. Getting little dated but nice culture. Breakfast is a little pricey for not a lot.

Stayed on a Sunday evening, booked a suite with breakfast. The room was more a large room than a traditional suite. The hotel and room was clean but felt like tired. Attempted to go to the bar which is in the basement, it was unattended so ended up leaving and going to a bar down the road. Overall stay was okay, no issues but would not come back.
