Great

Stayed with friends · For friends and family

Cedar Grove Lodge is in an absolutely beautiful location along the river in King's Canyon, and if you're there to hike the great trails in the area or hang out in a lounge chair along the riverfront, you'll be happy. The lodge isn't the point--the location is. The lodge itself is old, run down, and clearly hasn't been maintained. Rooms are grubby and show signs of water damage and age, showers are tiny with pitiful water pressure, mattresses are old and don't smell great. But if you're not here to hang out in the room, that probably won't bother you! We enjoyed the break from phones, WiFi, and internet, and were happy to enjoy our time outdoors every day before coming back to crash at the lodge. The snack bar is your only option for food and has limited options and hours, but everything we tried was surprisingly good and really reasonably priced for in-park meals. The market is well stocked. The staff throughout the property were SO helpful, friendly, and hard working. You're in a remote canyon--be flexible and enjoy your beautiful surroundings!

Nice, rustic lodge with super helpful staff. It’s not the Ritz but it’s a great option if you want to see the Canyon and surrounding areas and have a comfy/bed and shower at the end of the day. The food was very good and the convenience store was great!

Outstanding location. Hanging by the river was great. Simple room. No tv and spotty internet. Snack bar food was excellent. Definitely would stay again.

The room was dated. We were there for only one night but as soon as we got in our room the power went out had we had no air conditioning and couln't take a shower the whole time we were there. They had a back up generator but that took them almost 45 minutes to get to run, and was told no air and no showers. But I didn't expect to much so wasn't a big disappointment

We arrived an hour early and were able to check in with adjoining rooms. Beautiful location on King River with lounge chairs to enjoy the views outside. Picnic area is where you can use a propane camp stove to cookout. (No charcoal) Snack bar serves starbucks coffee and there is a cute gift shop with lower prices than the park shops. We enjoyed our stay, 2 elders a young couple and you g adults. I would be worried of the river if you had young children. And a note that the room doors lock from the inside- old fashioned push button on the handle.
