We stayed here for 2 nights and I would honestly give the hotel an extremely bad review - not even worth one star The rooms are super old and not well maintained - wood cracking you feel the whole villa is collapsing with every step, the low maintenance in the bathroom area is disgusting The service is sooooo bad be it room service, house keeping and even the restaurant Do not be fooled and do not book your stay here

Kupu Kupu Barong in Ubud, Bali is located in a beautiful area with very good scenery. Being surrounded by the jungle gives the resort a peaceful and natural atmosphere, and the views are truly relaxing and memorable. The hotel staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful throughout the stay. They were welcoming and did their best to make the experience comfortable. However, the property itself feels quite outdated and old. The wooden flooring creaks, some areas seem to be starting to rot, and even some stair posts are visibly deteriorating, which may become a safety concern soon. Because the resort is deep in the jungle where it rains often, they are constantly battling moisture, algae, crawling creatures, and the natural effects of the environment. In my opinion, the property really needs renovation and updating. While staying in the jungle means you are naturally living with nature and the elements, and some travelers may love that experience, for the price, there are newer and more contemporary places to stay elsewhere in Bali that may offer better overall value. Personally, I would likely not return, but if being fully immersed in the jungle environment is your preference, this may still be a good fit for you.

I loved the atmosphere of this property of being surrounded by nature. The suite was spacious and clean. The staff were very kind and helpful. I think there could be more signs around the property to help visitors find there way around when walking.

Amazing place with beautiful views and gardens. So peaceful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a bit tricky in and out of the buggy to get up and down windy steep roads to the room.
