Stayed with family · For friends and family

We stayed for three nights. For two of the nights, our AC was not cooling. We complained multiple times. It was so bad because it was so hot outside. Finally, on the third night, we were able to move to another floor and then the AC was working fine. Breakfast was very good. We arrived early and asked for early check-in. My son was not feeling good and really needed to rest. No rooms were available, which was understandable. But once people started checking out, I thought they might prioritize to get one of our rooms cleaned first. But no, we had to wait till very close to check-in time. We explained how our son was not feeling good and if they could do anything to get that room clean sooner, but unfortunately, nothing happened. For the amount of money we paid for this room, I expected much better.

Property was gorgeous. Very posh. But the room was set up so strangely. The bathroom just had a smoked glass door that neither closed completely nor latched, so you had zero privacy. The shower floor seemed designed to flood the whole bathroom, which we did with every shower. You couldn't turn on the shower head without getting doused with COLD water because it was placed so oddly. It seemed like they favored the aesthetics too much and the practical side of things too little.

Good

Plus points + 1. Clean and modern 2. Very friendly front reception staff during the day, less accommodating in the late evening. Breakfast is very good and reasonably priced. Big minus point - 1. This is NOT walking distance from downtown Amsterdam, it is one train journey away to the busy Central train station Amsterdam and train can run on a delay. The area feels like a nondescript business-mini-high- rise area of no character so as a tourist to the city it was a very disappointing choice. Would not recommend it to tourists visiting Amsterdam to enjoy the May delights of central Amsterdam because after all the walking, cafe visits, restaurants, museums etc which tourist wants to trundle down into the large central station to take a train out of the city?! 2. Very pricey for the fact that it is NOT central. 3. Our room was very small with two small size twin beds and we could hardly walk around them without almost hitting into the wall mount tv opposite them. Not worth the high price we paid

Fantastic

Solo stay

The location was perfect. Under 5 minute walk to the train station that brought you to Amsterdam Centraal as well as Shiphol Airport and if you get a regional 3 day pass even out to the surrounding suburbs like Haarlem and the seaside resort of Zandvoort. It’s a quiet area and does not have much to offer for restaurants but it’s so close to Amsterdam city.
