Stayed with family

Miki (host) was very responsive. The house was very clean and the living room was spacious enough for a large group to hang out. All the rooms were a good size and the beds were super comfortable. Having 2 washer/dryers were wonderful since we’ve been traveling and needed to do laundry dry. The location was in what I’d describe as a quiet suburb but a short walk to a train station for traveling anywhere. There were restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Highly recommend Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo! The location is fantastic, situated in a vibrant spot right off Shijo Street, it's just a short 6 minute walk to the subway and Hankyu lines, making it incredibly easy to explore Nishiki Market and the rest of Kyoto. We lucked out with a free upgrade to a Wide King room, which was incredibly spacious and well designed, a rare find and a massive win. The comfort levels were top; the premium bedding and modern amenities made for an exceptionally relaxing stay. After a massive day of walking and sightseeing, coming back to such a quiet, comfortable room and winding down in the hotel's brilliant indoor public bath house was absolute perfection. Clean, stylish, and highly convenient, we would definitely stay here again!

The room smelled a little off. Bathroom had faint poop smell. No clothes iron in the room. We have stayed at other Mitsui Garden hotels that were better. Location was good, easy to get around with many dining options and supermarket nearby.

This hotel was beautiful and well maintained. The lobby smelled amazing - like a yoga studio. We got the breakfast buffet and it was a very nice spread and the service was lovely. We arrived at the hotel a bit early and they were able to check us in a little early which was a plus. My only complaint is that there seemed to be some separation between the tub and the wall, like maybe construction was not properly completed in the bathroom.
