Everything was fine. The location was very good for accessing the visitor areas of the city. The staff was professional although not overly friendly. The buffet was nice.

This was our first time staying in York. The room was average size. The food was good - not the best since it had limited varieties of food. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to many places.

Room was great, close location to centre and beautiful by the river. Did not like breakfast and only had one of the two I paid for but there are other locations near by for breakfast.

Nice spacey room no complaints re cleanliness. Good varied choice for breakfast. Welcoming staff. A little criticism is that the bedroom window in room 34 did not fully close & traffic travelling by in the street had the effect of rattling the window this though did not spoil stay. Reported to reception at end of stay.

The bathroom is in desperate need of a makeover. The cleaning was acceptable overall, but the curtains were covered in spiders at the top, so more attention to detail is definitely required. The quality of the breakfast was excellent, although the variety was quite limited. The mattress is exceptionally comfortable, and the linens are truly lovely. The location is fantastic, just a stone's throw from everything, and for a small upgrade, you can enjoy a stunning river view.

We stayed at The Queens Hotel for one night. Overall, it’s a solid, convenient place to stay in York, though there are a few trade-offs to keep in mind. Excellent Location: the hotel is fantastically situated just a 4-minute walk from the city centre, making it incredibly easy to explore. Our room was surprisingly spacious, and the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night's rest once things quieted down. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our short stay. Having parking directly on-site in York is a huge plus. While it isn't free, the price felt fair for the convenience. Things to Consider: the hotel is a bit dated in style and generally clean but lacks attentions to details and extra care in maintenance. Because it was a hot summer weekend, we had to leave our windows open on the waterside. Being so close to the center meant we could hear people out on the street until quite late, which did keep us awake for a while. If you are a light sleeper, you might want to request a room away from the street or bring earplugs for weekend stays. The breakfast food itself was perfectly okay, though we would have appreciated a bit more variety and choice when it came to the hot drinks. Despite the nighttime noise and the slightly older decor, the combination of a great location, private parking, and lovely staff makes it a very practical choice for a trip to York.

Security was fine but parking was difficult. A large truck seemed to monopolize the small area. Location wonderful but we requested a view of the water, but got an apt. The apt was lovely though. It was quite noisy until midnight.

This is a basic hotel which was not worth what we paid . There was an unpleasant smell everywhere from the entrance to my room of stale food , bad air freshener and strong cleaning fluid . The staff were not particularly friendly or helpful unlike everyone else in the rest of the city. They were too busy chatting amongst themselves and not interested in guests
