Great

Solo stay

This was a great stay for solo travel. Close to tourist locations, tube, and cafes. Solo room was perfect size and clean. However, was slightly disappointed by staff contact as I was unable to get ahold of them in the evening via hotel room phone which is a concern as I needed some assistance.

Below average
The room I was given was 32ºC (90ºF) when it was 31C outside. The room was hotter than outside during a heatwave with no working airconditioning. We know this because the engineer they called to fix it (who we waited in the hot room for an hour for) measured it for us. This was not able to be remedied. They then proceeded to give us 3 different alternative rooms with only marginal improvements in temperature. Each of the rooms had different issues on top of the heat including fridges that leaked water, and windows that were missing a handle and will not close. Finally they decided to send me to an alternative location and sent me on a hour and a half taxi ride during rush hour. This is absolutely unacceptable for a 4 star hotel.

Fantastic

Solo stay

Helpful staff. Aircon. Large comfortable bed. Good range of toiletries including conditioner. Good quality hairdryer but again no mirror at all to dry hair by or check full length. Fridge was useful for drinks and snacks bought from local supermarkets. Great location near tube and buses. Good restaurant - chicken Caesar salad was great- but was disappointed they had no Sunday roast available.

Good

We arrived on a very hot day and the air con was not working in the allocated room. We were transferred to another room which was even worse. Then moved into a third room which was much cooler but very small. We stayed in this room for our stay. Staff were ok but the older building and lack of air con was a problem for us on this stay.

Great

Solo stay

The location is top notch, really easy to te t around. Next to the Natural History and Victoria & Albert museums, short walk to Hyde Park, and well connected to public transportation especially to/from Heathrow (picadilly line). The hotel is dated, and during my stay London was in the middle of a heat wave with temperatures ranging from 80 to 100 throughout the day. On my first night, the AC in my room was not working and the staff said that the hotel was fully booked and they would move me to a different room the next day. I had a rough night, needless to say. However, the AC in the second room was working fine! Other guests had the same issue with their rooms and they were given portable fans since there were no rooms available.

Fantastic

Solo stay

Very helpful staff who put me in an upgraded ground floor room. In the heat in London at the moment, I can’t tell you just how grateful I was for this. It all worked well. Clean, quiet room with a nice bathroom and a good shower. Would recommend and will return.
