Stayed with family

Our second time staying here, love the space which you get with an apartment with excellent bathroom facilities. The pool area is great with plenty of plants and grass to break up the sun beds. The restaurant is also lovely. The gym is a good size too, it would however benefit from some more equipment.

Beautiful grounds and apartment with everything we needed for our baby, including comfy cot and baby bath. We loved the gardens, views, spa pool and the delicious range of choice for breakfast. We will be back!

Service very limited in this part of resort which is made of 3 hotels. Very clean, great breakfast with plenty of choice. Beautiful resort all in all, good facilities, older. but very well looked after.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 7night stay at The Residence (30/8/25-5/9/25) and would definitely recommend. The apartment was modern, clean, very roomy, bedroom, 2 bathrooms, lounge area, dining area, a very well equipped kitchen and balcony. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The gardens and pool area were absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The hotel complex is huge and has everything you could possibly want or need but it is very easy to get disorientated and lost! Madeira is a beautiful island we would definitely like to return.

We had a really nice view from our room of the beach below. The room was spacious and very clean. For me the bed was not very comfortable as I am a side sleeper and the mattress was fairly hard. It wasn’t really close to old town, so we had to get transportation back and forth.

Great place. Two problems with our room: 1. It was at the farthest possible point from elevators/reception so didn’t enjoy entering and exiting with young children and luggage. 2. Ants! There are a LOT of them in the room. Don’t leave any food unopened anywhere.
