Below average Hotel is old and tired.
Bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable.
Had holes in the sheets
Mould in the shower
Shower head was terrible had to be either hand held or spray directly horizontal
Towels were frayed at the edges
Carpet stains all the way through the hallways
Protest at the front door protesting about the hotel with clutter and rubbish outside and inside.

FantasticSolo stay
Rooms were a lot bigger then others in Seoul. Beautiful, lots of space, comfy beds. The property was fantastic. No plug ins by the beds though! The breakfast wasn't included and it was pretty expensive but a very extensive buffet.

The hotel entrance was very messy and dirty, and the hotel's hallways also needed renovation.

The airport shuttle bus was just down the road from the hotel, very comfortable and probably faster than the taxi we used to get to the hotel. WiFi was very good. The room was very clean and comfortable. 2 reasons for not giving a full 5* review: lots of things left just inside and outside the hotel entrance for demonstrations because apparently the hotel let go some staff that they felt was not justified. I was also disappointed that I was charged for losing a room key - plastic card that is easily lost and won’t cost the hotel much.

This hotel is in the heart of Myeoungdong, close to everything but pretty dated. Nice view of Namsan tower but the window needed a cleaning and the room smelled weird. Everything was outdated and needed a fresh renovation. Big plus was the brunch downstairs. Food was really good with many options and the price was exceptionally good. The entrance to the hotel was a mess with picketers when we stayed there a big eye sore. I probably wouldn’t stay there again since there are so many options nearby at this price point.

One thing that’s a bit embarrassing and disappointing is the demonstration in front of the hotel.

The barricades set up in front of the hotel due to the protest and the messy trash were so dirty. The breakfast menu at the restaurant was also terrible.

Under normal circumstances, I would give the Sejong a 4 star review since it delivered a clean a spacious (albeit dated) room, at a price point that delivers value. BUT we arrived under abnormal circumstances. We arrived to a shocking mountain of garbage in the streetside lobby, nearly blocking the stairs. There are also stacks of garbage outside along the sidewalk. Some of this reflects an ongoing labor dispute-- which also impacted out stay-- but collecting trash seems a basic task if your hotel is going to remain open. Finally, the breakfast buffet was nearly inedible. Again I don't know if it is because the regular kitchen staff was let go or is striking, but for 22,000 won (around $15), the eggs should at least be full boiled, and the array of salads, etc. should look plentiful and fresh. If I hear that they have brought their workers back, I'll edit this review... but for now? No way.

GoodSolo stay
Good location, but boxes and debris in front of entrance are not attractive. No automatic doors made it difficult with luggage. A/c did not work, but rather it was just a fan.
