Excellent location as next door to Queen Street Station. Warm welcome from the staff. Room was a good size, albeit a little dated. Beds were comfy. Only downside for us was no power sockets next to, or near the beds themselves. Meant the c-pap machine couldn't be used!

FantasticStayed with family 路 For friends and family
Staff we came across were excellent, checking in obliged with adjoining rooms, young guy on morning duty about 30yrs, sorted me out for breakfast and gave me a complimentary can of IrnBru to help my hangover 馃憤馃憦馃憦Though his personal service was super, he also greeted us when we staggered in later that evening after we attended our wedding,he was friendly and chatty and made us valued even though we were worse for ware.

Bedrooms need a wee refresh. Dining room lovely. Lovely crisp cotton sheets and duvet cover.
curtains, some hooks were missing so sagged a little. Good facilities including a fan, ironing board and iron, and a hairdryer. Swivel chair needs replaced, it was falling apart.

Our one issue arises from the room window, which was painted shut. The staff quickly had maintenance free it up, but byelaws require a safety chain be permanently attached to it so that it can only be raised about 4 inches. Given that temperatures were the hottest in decades that meant the room was too hot to get a good nights sleep. I am told that heat is not an issue in Glasgow usually but global warming requires something be done, perhaps a window fan to bring cool air in. Passive cooling is not enough.

The place was so charming. Beautiful staircase. The room was small but quaint and comfortable for 1 person. Bathroom was modern and clean. Unfortunately this old building is not air conditioned and I happened to be there during an unusual heat wave! Although there was a fan in the room it was a huge noisy thing that I could not sleep with. The breakfast was not the best, scrambled eggs too mushy and swimming in liquid were inedible and the fruits were all canned and over sweet. Luckily they had other options. Staff was friendly and helpful and apologetic about the heat, but I鈥檓 sure this is a rare occurrence in Scotland, so they can鈥檛 be faulted. The location was ideal, next to Queen Street station, Buchanan Street, the hop on hop off bus. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again鈥n cooler temperatures.

My room was very clean, and the bed was one of the comfiest I've slept on in a long time as well as being a quiet room too, perfect. Gary on reception was a delight, helpful and cheery, and Alisdair at breakfast was also helpful and cheery. I was a bit disappointed with the bar though. I asked for a cocktail list, but was told they didn't do them at that time, so I ordered a spirit and a mixer, there wasn't quite a full measure and there wasn't another bottle, but it was the price that shocked me the most (no visible price list) almost 拢8 for a single shot and a can of soft drink!!! then I turn round and see another guest holding a cocktail in their hand? Not impressed.
One issue with the room, there was a tea tray, well stocked, but where it was positioned I'd have had to put kettle on the floor, not very safe, the kettle cord doesn't reach the outlet, I moved the tray to the dresser, not much better, the tray was hanging off the back of the dresser to reach the outlet.
