Great
Nice large room. Everything was in good shape. There was no coffee maker and no microwave, no snacks, no vending. We needed hot water for tea. The first night, the bar provided such, albeit slowly. The second they refused and were rather brusk about it. This was quite disappointing from an expensive hotel.

Good
Hotel was nice and location was great, but the lack of amenities in the room (warm fridge, no coffee machine) was disappointing. I like the neighborhood, has a lot to walk to within 10-15 min but wouldn’t stay here again

The room had visible water damage on the wall and a huge fan blowing mold onto the desk . Refrigerator did not work and bathroom hook was broken .

Good
Overall our stay was just okay. Lobby was very nice and the staff was kind. The carpet in our room was very stained and needed replaced in a bad way. Hallways and bathrooms were very dingy and need to be spruced up. The “free” drinks were wayyy overpriced but still a bonus. The “free” breakfast was mediocre at best in terms of flavor. Great location and quiet neighborhood. Hotel is just old and in need of a renovation.

The Ambassador Gold Coast is a once great hotel in decline. We checked into a room with a clogged toilet. The carpeting had been replaced with laminate. And there was no comfortable chair, only a hard-seated cane chair. The handyman who was sent to clear the toilet came to our rescue and got us moved to another room. It also had no carpeting, but there was a comfortable enough small sofa and a working toilet. Early risers will be aghast to find no coffee until 7 am. The hotel provided a single-cup Keurig in the lobby bar (what you might find in your room in a normal hotel) with no-name coffee pods. There was a stream of guests heading to Starbucks and LaColumbe, which are about three blocks away. Walking for coffee is not the worst thing, given the techno pop that blasted the lobby at around 7 a.m. Asked to turn down the volume a tad, the desk attendant declined, saying that’s the volume they had been told to maintain. The desk attendant t aside, the hotel staff that was largely friendly and helpful. Kudos to them for showing hospitality against steep odds.

Fantastic
The hotel was right by everything. It was really nice and had a lot of things to do. The staff was also really nice.
