No on site staff which caused delays with check in process. There was no coffee maker and the hot water pot leaked. The bedside lights didnt work and one of the two bedside electricaal outlets was not functional. The bathroom was very nice and bed comfortable

Just what you need and nothing extra. The rooms are small but nicely decorated. Clean and comfortable beds.

This hotel was very cutely designed and easy to just walk in. It was very centrally located. What was very disappointing is reading the Google reviews every guest comments on no hot water and every time society hill says they’ve fixed it.. having now experienced it myself it is starting to feel like a scam that they simply refuse to offer running hot water and turn it on at the final hour. The room was quite small, which was fine, but just prepared that it’s essentially the size of your bed- plenty of storage though! Our lights flickered which was also annoying. They said they would come by first thing in the morning, but didn’t. I got a text at 11 pm that the water was magically “fixed”, but it still wasn’t. They have a lot to offer in terms of space design and cost- so just be upfront and honest about the water (and maintenance overall) ! Charge more if you need to.. Don’t trick people!!

Solo stay

For most of my stay there wasn’t hot water in the shower and the bathroom floor clearly hadn’t been cleaned. The staff sent me a text at 11pm asking me to check if the water had been fixed? The location is great though so that’s a plus and it’s affordable-ish. Could have done without the housekeeping staff knocking loudly on the door this morning around 9:00 (check out is 11:00 and the do not disturb hang tag was up). I’d say pay more money to ensure hot water and a stay where you have more privacy.

Fantastic

Solo stay

Stayed there, Loved It! I had a quick stay at Society Hill Hotel back in May. Everything was great including staff communication, hotel location, and the room! They offer keyless check in and send the credentials via text which beats waiting in a line in a lobby. All the info was sent prior to my arrival. The location was near lots of attractions, restaurants, and points of interest around town and its very walkable. The room was clean, and spacious. I loved the décor and you can tell real thought was put into the design. I loved the records and record player provided in the room. My favorite part was the heated floor in the bathroom which was a cool surprise! The water pressure was great also! There’s a restaurant right down stairs also but I didn’t get to check it out. I will definitely book again the next time I’m in town!

Gorgeous hotel, the staff was extremely helpful, we accidentally left something in the room and they went above and beyond to help. Perfect location and the bathrooms are stunning, definitely will be going back

I am torn about this hotel. The location and price are spot on. However, you have to give them all of your sensitive information to include a copy of your Drivers License.

This is a building with rooms, not a hotel! It has self-check-in via an app, which must be completed in advance. No one is present. All rooms are 1.5 to 3.5 flights of stairs. There is no elevator. The maintenance is shoddy. The cleaning supplies and extra linens are in piles on the stair landings. Furthermore, fair warning is not given to guests. You have to click "About this property" details to see that it has virtual check-in and accessibility issues. Even after booking, Expedia does not communicate these facts. Nor does the hotel, because the hotel uses text messages and Expedia does not provide them phone numbers. Finally there are maintenance and design problems. The bunkbed in my room had broken guard rails and the large bathroom had no counter or shelf for even a small cosmetic bag. The good news is that there is a sprinkler system.

Good

Solo stay

The place is nice and the room was fairly clean. It is one of those “hotels” with no lobby or staff, so there are cameras everywhere and digital pads to enter the building and rooms. The whole model is a bit weird to me and annoying because of the amount of time you spend taking out the phone to look at the app for messages, instructions, passwords, etc. But if you don’t mind any of that, the place is perfectly fine.
