**Place d’Armes Hotel – New Orleans** Great hotel for the location and history. The property is gorgeous, charming, and full of character. It is close to everything, so you really do not need a car once you arrive. The hotel offers on-site parking, porters, and concierge help with luggage. The pool is clean, cozy, and relaxing, and the guest crowd seemed quieter and higher-end. That said, there are issues. Parking is $60/night, and the parking staff were not very friendly. It often felt like requests for the car were an inconvenience, and tips seemed expected. The garage exit is also unsafe, with no mirrors to see pedestrians, bikes, or traffic. The lobby is small but charming. Front desk staff were not very welcoming, and one morning around 7 a.m., I had to wake the receptionist, who was asleep at the computer. Coffee service was inconsistent, and the coffee was disappointing for the price of the stay. The room-temperature Mini Moo creamers felt cheap. Our room stayed hot the entire trip, and the loud window A/C ran all night but could not keep up. The room smelled old and dingy and could use updating. The shower was nice overall, but there was some mold. The biggest concern was seeing rats around the property in the mornings and evenings, especially near the pool area, along with large roaches. Would I stay again? Yes, because the location and history are excellent. But the hotel definitely needs work.

Fantastic
The entire experience was fantastic. From valet to the vibrant, friendly, and personable staff we encountered. The courtyard was beautiful and the rooms were unique and modern. The AC worked wonderfully.

I love everything about this hotel! The staff is an absolute dream and the beds are comfortable. Most of the rooms are smaller as is expected with historic buildings. My favorite place in New Orleans!

This hotel has the old world charm that you're looking for when you travel to New Orleans. The hotel sits perfectly between Bourbon Street and Café Dumond. The room is elegant, upgraded, clean and comfortable! And yes, the air-conditioning worked perfectly. The staff was top tier. I would highly recommend this hotel!
