Staff were super helpful with travel ideas and check in. The bed was extremely comfortable and the rooftop bar was great. Would definitely recommend.

We ended our month-long vacation at the Reykjavík Edition. The location was excellent — right downtown on the harbour and within easy walking distance of the city. The room itself was compact, with only one chair, though the bathroom was spacious and well designed. Unfortunately, the room temperature was a constant issue. The in-floor heating had apparently been set to 25°C, and because of the radiant system, it took until our third day before the room became comfortable, even with the window open. Housekeeping service was inconsistent, generally arriving very late in the afternoon. On our final full day, our room was skipped entirely because we were in the room from 2–4 PM, despite being out from 8 AM until 2 PM. On departure day, the hotel’s systems were down. Although we had been told a late checkout would likely be possible, staff were unable to confirm anything, so we had to leave at the regular checkout time. I also have yet to receive my detailed invoice. Dining was mixed. Our first experience at the Michelin-starred restaurant was unfortunately the worst meal and service experience of our trip. However, we returned later for lunch and had a completely different — and very enjoyable — experience. Overall, while the property has an outstanding location and some strong features, the experience did not justify the premium pricing.

Wonderful service. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The beds were super comfortable which was lovely after a week of hiking around Iceland. The spa is really lovely and peaceful, it was nice to use the sauna, steam room and hot tub during our stay.

hotel is very nice, although a bit expensive. But it is located in walking distance to some of the best restaurants, bars and shopping in town. Very nice view of the water also. Bar staff made great drinks and could not have been any more friendly, and actually all of the staff at the hotel were perfect. Very nice and willing to go out of their way.

Great

Breakfast (included) was great. The hotel staff are engaged and attentive. The price is high, and there were additional (substantial) fees added at checkout that amounted to another 15-20% of total cost. I would likely not eat again at the restaurant, other meals we had were much better, and cost significantly less.

The room has crumbs on the floor, given it was only 1 night for us, we didn’t make a big deal out of it. We arrived after a long day driving and decided to eat at the restaurant - Tides. The service was SOOOOO slow, 2 hours later we almost fell asleep at the table and believe me, we only had appetizer and main course, not deserts. This hotel is for the hipsters and those who want to be seen, have a very modern vibe but fell short in many ways especially around customer service - it was just OK. I think we got the best service from the bell hop. Definitely NOT a 5-star hotel.
