What to expect

Day 1: We start the Lares Trek with an early drive from Cusco to Cuncani, stopping in Calca for breakfast and shopping, then hike through Andean landscapes to the Huacawasi campsite after passing Yanacocha and having lunch by a lake.

Day 2: After breakfast, we hike 4 hours to the 4500-meter Huacawasi Pass, descend past scenic lagoons and a Queuña tree forest, and end the day at the Pucara campsite with warm tea and snacks.

Day 3: We visit Yanahuara terraces, pass through Pachar to the Inca Trail, explore Choccana, lunch in Ollantaytambo, then take a train to Aguas Calientes for the night.

Day 4: We tour Machu Picchu, enjoy free exploration time, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch, then take the train to Ollantaytambo and a bus back to Cusco, concluding our trek.
