Overall, an amazing experience! Everybody from the organizers, drivers and guides were really great! Although, this activity is heavily weather dependent, the package is well executed and would recommend to anyone who enjoys the outdoors!
Polite and friendly staff. Good facilities, satisfied with service. Will recommend to friends next time
Everything was arranged smoothly. However, I wished that the driver followed the itinerary (time) on day 1 as we wanted to stay longer at Desa Dairy Farm but he sent us a bit too early at the hotel on the first night. Overall, it’s a wonderful experience! A certain level of fitness is definitely needed in this hike.
The itinerary arranged by the travel agency is very good. We will give you postcards before going up the mountain, a lunch lunch (sandwich, chicken wings, apples), and a late lunch after going down the mountain. The mountain guide is also great and will encourage us in a timely manner and inform us of the distance and time of the next rest stop. At the attractions, they will take the initiative to help take photos and help solve some minor problems with hiking poles.
Booked the Private Mount Kinabalu Via Ferrata Climb via Klook (fulfilled by Borneo Calling) and it was a great experience overall. Mei from Borneo Calling was super helpful—she kept us updated with driver info, emergency contacts, and tips for the climb. The hike itself was very tough. I've done a few mountains before but this was the hardest. Unless you're very fit, I'd think twice about doing Via Ferrata—it has a strict 6:30am cutoff which is hard to meet unless you summit quickly. The views were stunning and totally worth it. We stayed at Pendant Hut—basic but had running water and warm showers, which was a nice surprise. Food was average. Note: summit push and Via Ferrata depend on weather, so cancellations can happen. Overall, a humbling and rewarding climb. Highly recommend booking through Borneo Calling, but assess your fitness before attempting this!
Thank you so much for an incredible trip up Mount Kinabalu. Doing the Walk the Torq route was easily the best part of the climb. The views were unreal and the gear felt completely secure. As a solo hiker, I felt incredibly well taken care of the entire time. A massive thank you to both of my amazing guides! My mountain guide was fantastic at pacing me to the summit, and my via ferrata guide was professional and made me feel 100% safe on the sheer rock face.I had such a memorable experience that if I have the chance to come back, I definitely want to challenge myself with the long Low's Peak Circuit next time. 💪🏻
The shuttle driver and the evening accommodation were quite good, and the guide was very talkative and answered all our questions! It's a worthwhile trip, and if you love hiking, you shouldn't miss it.
One-stop arrangement service, exactly! ! ! The tour guide takes good care of you, and the leader Gang Suo will help take photos along the way and teach you how to pose. The whole trip is easy to do, as long as you have enough physical strength.
Solo climb mount kinabalu with one guide. Paid more but had a wonderful experience and everything goes smoothly.
