Kobe Nada Sake Brewery Half-Day Experience with Food

I had an absolute blast on the Klook Discover Nada's Sake Heritage Tour! It was like stepping into a sake-lover's paradise, with fascinating stories about Nada's sake history and traditions. The sake tasting sessions were a flavor-packed adventure, where we got to sample a range of delicious brews and even uncover our personal favorites. The tour's lively atmosphere, combined with visits to beweries, made it an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to anyone up for a sake-fueled adventure!

Our guide was very nice, and we enjoyed watching the cedar barrel crafting at one of the breweries. We booked the tour during Golden Week, and sadly 2 of the 4 breweries we were supposed to go to were closed. We were unaware they were closed until we followed our guide to both. He apologized for that, but I would recommend booking during a regular week for a chance to see all of the breweries.

Yuko-san was incredibly knowledgeable, well spoken and just a pleasure to be around. There were lots of different types of sake to try, with several of them only available at those particular breweries.

The tour name included "private custom" and the tag listed "private tour guide," so I assumed the guide would have basic sake knowledge and be able to explain things. However, they didn't. The guide's explanations about sake were full of errors. The Chinese-speaking guide was very unprofessional that day. They may have lived in Japan for over 20 years, as their Chinese seemed rusty. During the visit to the Kiku-Masamune barrel-making factory, the guide barely translated complete sentences of what the Japanese staff were saying. They kept pausing and often directly used Japanese Kanji as Chinese words. They even asked if we wanted to just listen to the English translation from the tour guide next door (?). (I paid you, not the other tour guide.) Furthermore, while traveling between the breweries, the guide didn't provide much information about the local culture. Instead, they kept prying into my and my friend's personal lives, asking where we worked, if we had boyfriends, how old we were, and why we weren't married yet, etc. For a private tour costing over 5000 NTD, I didn't feel served at all. It was terrible.
