I used it relatively smoothly in Labuan Bajo, where transportation is difficult, and the driver was friendly. However, it would be nice to maintain the car in better condition.
I have travelled to many places in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Bromo, Bali, Belitung, Balikpapan, Makasaar, Semarang, and I got the worst service here ever. 1. The roads are very narrow and dangerous here, but the driver talked on a video call with his friend while driving. I felt it was very dangerous and hoped the driver to concentrate on driving only. 2. I already chartered the car and driver for 6 hours, but the driver suddendly asked me to pay IDR 200,000 if I want to use the car for 6 hours. Tip is something that I can choose to give when the service is good enough, not something mandatory. Because I didn't want to have an argument with the driver and ruin my vacation, I just finished using the car only in 5 hours. But even when I finished only in 5 hours because of the driver, he still asked me to give him some tips. The money for dinner of driver is usually paid in Indonesia only when I hire my only driver and ask him work overtime. the condition of the car was also questionable when considering the price you pay for charther. You need to pay about 45 dollars when you book, and have to pay additional IDR 300,000 to go to Gua Rangko, which is about 30 minute away from the airport, because 45 dollolars is the price only for the downtown. Considering all this, the price to charter a car is about 2~3 times more expensive compared to that in Jakarta and Bali. One more tip for your trip to Gua Ranko. You need to charter a boat to go to Gua Ranko. The price seems to be different according to who you charter a boat from. In my case, I paid IDR300,000 because my driver said there's no boat cheaper than this, even though I don't know whether this is true. When I come back here again, I will definitely use a taxi at the airport. There are many taxies there and I will negotiate with them directly to charter a taxi to go to Gua Rangko.
price way too expensive, it is only for city tour, i ask to go area 20km from city about 1hr, they ask more money 500k!! rip off
