Reviews
Great experience with Mba Edna to make beef rawon almost completely from scratch including picking some ingredients growing in her yard. After cooking together we sat in the prep space with her to eat and chatted about the local culture.
Highly recommended! We had such a lovely time at Endah’s cooking class. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel completely at home. The experience was relaxed, hands-on, and felt more like cooking with a friend than a formal class. We learned to prepare several traditional dishes and there was more than enough food to enjoy. It was truly an eye-opening experience—we learned so much and took away new skills. Endah and her family were warm and friendly, and we also loved the company of her cats and dog, which made the experience even more special. A heartwarming and authentic experience we’ll always remember!
It is our first time in Yogyakarta and we thought that it’ll be nice to join a cooking class and bond with the locals. Auntie Endah and her family is so welcoming as soon as we arrived to her house. They spoiled us with refreshments and fun conversation as we exchange our cultures. The cooking class itself was very authentic, and engaging. We feel we are in good hands with personal chef guiding us all in all process. The best part is we get to eat the food we cooked together. It was enak sekali. I would highly recommend this activity.
I always like to join cooking class in different country to learn the local culture, the host emdah and her husband provided extremely fantastic experience to us, not only learn to cook and we have chat and learn each other culture a lot, we know more about jogja and even giving us some extra activity body massage therapy. highly recommended here
Highly recommend doing this class! We had an amazing day with Endah and her family at their home. The food was amazing and we got to see every step of the process, while harvesting some of the ingredients ourself. The endresults were very satisfying. Recommend the corn fritters as well! Thank you Endah and her family!
Highly Recommended! Was initially hesitant to book this activity as there were no reviews but we went ahead anyway and were glad we did! It was a very homely experience right at Endah's home and we got to learn from Endah how to cook some of the traditional dishes. It was very informal and felt like a visit to a friend's home. You prepare and cook as much as you want to be involved and Endah will do the rest. The food were really tasty too! We also had a great time chilling & chatting with Endah and her daughters. They were all really friendly! If you have time to spare, you can spend an entire day chilling at Endah's place after lunch!
this was definitely a highlight of our trip! Endah is a great chef, we immediately felt like we were in good hands when we met her. we picked some of our ingredients from her backyard and it made the dishes feel all the more homemade with love. we learned a lot about the food, the native ingredients, and about Indonesian culture. there was lots of good food to go around — both for our bellies and for our minds. wear something breezy and comfortable since it gets quite warm in the afternoon. this was one of the best experiences we’ve had in Jogja, I would highly recommend!
All our family loved it! There are several menu options and since the kids do not eat spicy but we adults do, we agreed to make several dishes for all tastes and all went excellent and was super tasty. we loved the experience very much and highly recommend it. the host Endah was super.
The cooking class with Endah was absolutely amazing. We cooked in the peaceful surroundings of her beautiful home. Endah taught us so much about the ingredients we used and we were able to try so many new things. We even made coconut milk ourselves and fried our own krupuk. On top of that we cooked a delicious stew and made the moat fragrant chicken. Not to forget we made different dips and sauces. Thank you so much for the great experience and memorable time.
We spent a morning with the friendly hostess. The cooking was easy and fun. Highly recommended.
