Easy to use, just scan the QR code at the entrance to enter! However, the network reception inside the tunnel is not good, and I once thought that if the display didn't work, I wouldn't be able to enter. I suggest taking a screenshot of the QR code first so you don't have to worry about network reception problems. After entering, you can visit freely, but there isn't really much to see, so you won't stay long.
Buy tickets on Klook in advance, just show the QR code at the entrance to enter, very convenient! No need to queue to buy tickets on site!
A very worthwhile attraction. We drove here in October and the weather was cool. We recommend walking to the very last view inside the tunnel where there is shallow water. If the line is long, it's best to bring slippers or put on plastic bags to walk through.
Experience: This exhibition is worth visiting. The tunnel is about 1 kilometer long and divided into several booths, each with its own unique features. However, transportation is quite inconvenient, so you need to plan your transportation in advance for a smooth visit.
The tunnel is long with very beautiful scenery, and there are three spots perfect for taking pictures. Unfortunately, it was a holiday so there were too many tourists. Purchasing tickets via Klook allows you to enter directly with the QR code, no need to exchange for physical tickets!
No need to spend time buying tickets, just scan the QR code to enter. It's convenient and fast. It's best to buy online in advance on holidays, otherwise you may not be able to enter.
The walk from the bus stop to the tunnel requires some time, so try to spare a little more time if you are a slow walker. The route in the tunnel leading to the final experience is quite nice, but you will probably have to queue up and wait for your turn. Thankfully, this is Japan, so everyone is very orderly, and there shouldn't be any issues. Try to get a tripod so it's easier for you to take photos if you are traveling alone like me, a solo traveler. Also, watch out for the timing for the returning bus to Yuzawa. So, you should plan and adjust your walk accordingly.
This experience was beyond my expectations and was incredibly beautiful. we took a train from Aomori station and hired a taxi at Echigo-Yuzawa station to Kiyotsu Gorge. Purchasing tickets on Klook saved us from having to wait in a long line and we beat the crowds and had the opportunity to experience the views without the crowds. we arrived there at 10am and when we left at 12noon it was crowded with tour buses.

Guide

Tickets must be booked in advance

  • Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel, which is 750 meters long in total, is an art space where visitors can enjoy the four seasons of Seikyokyo, one of Japan's three great canyons
  • The art space combines the grandeur of nature with contemporary art, creating an impressive and beautiful atmosphere
  • From the three viewing locations along the tunnel as well as the Panorama Station at its end, visitors can take in the fantastic beauty of the gorge
  • The most impressive spot here is the panorama station at the end of the tunnel, where the scenery is mirrored back on a reflecting pool in a beautiful art space

The "Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel " was renewed as an art piece called "Tunnel of Light" by Ma Yansong/MAD Architects at the "Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2018." The artwork is displayed at three observation points overlooking the great canyon of Seikyokyo and at the Panorama Station, which is the endpoint of the tunnel. Visitors can enjoy the magnificent beauty of the canyon from the 750-meter-long tunnel. Especially, the Panorama Station's "Light Cape (Cave of Light)" offers a fantastic art space where the landscape of Seikyokyo is reflected in the water mirror. While feeling the coolness of the valley's stream with their feet, visitors are encouraged to experience the space integrated with the scenery
