the whole experience was brilliant except the long time on the land transport. Guide Arie was patient, professional and proficient in English. he gave us all information we expected in his briefing session and patiently guided us to complete the nice rafting experience. the old rail train was another spot apart from the rafting, riding among the greenary across Tenom and Pangi was so much joy!! thank you Arie.
this is my second time here. we didn’t get to take the scenic train ride as the railway tracks have been damaged by flood. instead the locals gave us a one of a kind experience. motor rolling stock trolley.
I discovered rafting while planning a trip to Kota that I chose for my daughter's elementary school graduation trip. While comparing Kiulu and Padas, I passed Kiulu because it looked too good. There were no experience reviews and it was a long time ago, so I tried to find information in Jesselton and make a reservation locally with the intention of making a reservation at a low price, but the price difference between online and the price was too big (discounted to 350-400 per person) so I made a reservation through Klook right away. Even just before rafting, I was worried that it might be too dangerous since I am a girl and short (150cm), but my worries were for naught and the experience was so exciting and enjoyable that it was well worth the travel time and cost. If you enjoy thrills, be sure to experience it at least once. The boat didn't capsize like in the YouTube video, but 4 out of 8 people fell into the water. If you don't panic and float on the water, they will help you out.
Our family of 5 really enjoyed ourselves. Excellent experience. Hotel pick up at 4am and we were back at hotel in KK city centre by 5pm. Our guide Ari is really friendly and safety conscious too.
Great experience!! -did this 10 years ago and still as good. the guys from white hunter co. were experinced and funny people- very helpful. will come again. one point to note is that we had a very fast and bumpy ride to and from the river - they need to provide newer vans as the suspension was non existent and the vans were very old and somewhat dirty- travelling almost 5 hours return was more tiring than the rafting itself as we had to hold on or be thrown around the van. Drivers were kind but need to slow down especially in the rain.
Rafting is exciting and fun. The duration varies depending on the water level (45min~80min). The lunch provided is delicious (it is worthy of being the curry cooked by the Malays). The disadvantage is that the round trip journey takes a total of five hours, the road conditions are not good, and there are very few local train services, so if the train ends early, you can only wait. Also, I heard from the Grab driver that there seemed to be crocodiles in the river. XD
The instructor is very good and nice. Sharing local knowledge.
It's so thrilling and your heart beats a hundred times, it's worth a try and it's a worthwhile trip! Our family of four set off at four in the morning. We first took a car, then transferred to the train from Tenom Station to Station Pangi, and then started our whitewater rafting trip. The journey is a bit long, but the rafting process is definitely worth the price of admission! Our tour guide Arie is very professional, responsible, helpful and provides detailed information. If a member of the group accidentally falls into the stream, he will be rescued as soon as possible to ensure safety and reliability!
Almost drowned but absolutely had a great time white water rafting. Don't worry, life vests were provided and you don't have to know how to swim in order to participate in this activity. The DIY train ride to the venue was rather interesting too. LOVED IT. Highly recommended butdo bring along some snacks in case you get hungry as you might need to wait a period of time to catch the real train back to the city area.
It was fun and convenient getting it from klook! My friends enjoy the hospitality provided by the guide.
