Reviews summaryInteresting class to make your own pineapple cake. Recipe makes 10 where 9 will be packed into box and 1 can be enjoyed on the spot. However, baking details were not shared during my session, e.g. to bake how long at what temperature etc. Session includes visiting their museum to learn more on Chinese culture, NT$50 voucher which can be used in their store at Level 1 and a Tea set. At the end, they even have a lucky draw to win their cookies and also capsules to win toys for the kids.
Highly recommend this but you need to book in advance because it sells out weeks in advance. Did the DIY with my kids and they loved it, not just the pineapple cake but also the traditional costumes and the cultural explanations. Food was exceptional!
Really nice experience and fun activity! Went alone and was welcomed warmly, other participants were very friendly! They provide instructions in Englisch, Mandarin and Korean. Also the traditional dress experience was cool. while the cakes are baking they show you the museum. They talked about Taiwanese birth traditions. I wish they had explained more about pineapple cakes and their history instead!
Yesterday, my children and I enjoyed a delightful visit to the Kuo Yuan Ye Museum of Cake and Pastry, where we made pineapple cakes. The activity was both entertaining and informative, and the pineapple cakes turned out to be delicious. It was a fantastic family outing!
Yesterday, I had a wonderful time with my children at the Kuo Yuan Ye Museum of Cake and Pastry, making pineapple cakes. The entire experience was both fun and educational, and the pineapple cakes we made were incredibly delicious. It was a great family bonding activity!
So much fun making our own pineapple cakes! Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The chef had a translator so you don’t have to speak Mandarin to do the activity. Our group had English, Mandarin, Korean and Japanese speakers in it.
Great experience from the moment we stepped into the store. Staff was warm and hospitable and introduced the different Taiwanese customs to us. The museum was interactive, suitable for all ages. The workshop was fun even for a family of 5 adults. This activity easily became our favourite activity of the trip.
Guo Yuan Ye is at Exit 1 of the Shilin MRT station. Walk straight for about five minutes to reach the Guo Yuan Ye store. Take the elevator to the 4th floor to reach the DIY experience hall. This experience hall has two floors. On the 4th floor, you can make pineapple cakes and learn about Taiwanese customs at noon. It takes about 1.15 hours to make pineapple cakes and 30 minutes to tour. Then, you can retrieve our pineapple cakes and eat snacks. The whole process is very fun. After completion, there are also raffles and a NT$50 coupon for shopping. I really like this activity. 😀
Even a month before the trip, there were no available dates to reserve, but luckily, one day became available during the trip, so we had fun~ There were some parts that required a bit of strength for a first-grade girl, so the guardian did most of the work ㅋㅋㅋ There was also someone who explained in Korean, so we were able to experience it without difficulty, and the time to listen to the historical explanation while it was being baked was also quite informative, which was nice^^
It was our second time joining this DIY workshop.. very relaxing n funny experience for both adults n children,,, the participants came from different countries …highly recommended
