Reviews
What an amazing experience with Junghee at her home and the market. First, we visited the Korean market where she explained various Korean meats and vegetables while providing some street food samples. Then, we went up her beautiful apartment where she was set up for the lesson. We made chicken bulgogi, bibimbap, a tofu stew, and a Korean pancake. The class we easy to follow and Junghee’s lively nature and engagement made it fun. It was a great exposure to Korean culture through food. Highly recommend this tour.
Junghee is not just an instructor but like a chingu that you’re visiting after a long time. Learned a lot from her which I was able to apply during my whole trip. The meal that we made from her recipes was the my first meal in South Korea and it didn’t disappoint. From the pajeon and makgeoli pairing to the bibimbap, everything was so bountiful. Junghee even took videos and pics of us so you didn’t even have to worry. I also enjoyed the market tour so much and the trivias from her alongside. Thanks for making my first day in South Korea memorable, Junghee!
Our teacher, Jongi or Sarah is perfect for this job. She has that engaging personality and the right expertise to share with us who are all interested to learn about Korean cooking. The inclusion of a local market tour made the experience more interesting. The dishes that she made us do, seemed very simple and easy to follow, but still very delish. She is a real talker, so many things to share and I had a feeling that we won't be able to finish on schedule. Surprisingly, we finish on the dot, all feeling satisfied and fulfilled!
Nice walk inside the market, she explained some things about the ingredients we saw and that we would need during the preparation, she made us taste a dessert and taught us some terms in Korean. We prepared some good dishes that we then ate all together, we tasted a typical drink and received photos and recipes at the end of the lesson. A lively, energetic woman, very engaging and thorough in her explanations. An experience that I highly recommend.
It was a good tourist attraction, but for people who know about Korean food, it can be boring. Still, you learn new things, the market and the person were super friendly!
The cooking class was amazing and more than I ever wished for. we got to visit the market to learn all the secrets of the Korean dishes. The teacher, Junghee was super friendly and amazing! She would share very good stories to us. I would love to have another cooking class!
It was a very nice workshop overall. it was very hands on, and Sara was very friendly and helpful. we got to see a traditional market and the products they sell, then we went to her house to cook. while cooking, she also shared interesting bits about Korean culture. and basic Korean expressions.
I cannot recommend this experience enough! Junghee was an exceptional host. Very energetic, knowledgeable, and fun. The tour through the market was exciting and I learned so much there, even before we started cooking. The actual cooking part of the experience was perfectly planned out and she made it easy to follow along and execute. The end results were delicious! We also had a really interesting and randomly connected group of people from all over the world. If you’re on the fence about signing up, just do it. This will be one of the experiences in Seoul I will be talking about for a long time. 💜
Junghee Yoon made this a very fun (half) day. Very engaging person. I was surprised at how amazing the food tasted - better than the restaurants. Very grateful for the recipes so I can cook at home.
The host was absolutely amazing!! She was so thorough in explaining things and made the experience extremely fun. She was very inviting and helpful even telling us to bother her with questions on WhatsApp during our trip!
