Reviews
This time, three of us participated. The meeting point was Exit 10 of Myeongdong Station. Since it was my first trip to Korea, I was a little worried, wondering, "Is this really the right place?" But our guide, Dragon, called out my name, and we quickly met up. Dragon was very pleasant and spoke excellent Japanese, so I felt at ease joining the tour from the moment we met. On the day of the tour, the surrounding roads were heavily congested due to a demonstration, so we walked a short distance from the meeting point. There, a large black van was waiting for us. We were then told, "Today will be a private tour just for you all," which made for an unexpectedly special start. During the journey, Dragon meticulously explained the history of Korea and Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, making the approximately one-hour travel time fly by. It was a very enjoyable and meaningful time. Upon arriving at Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, a classical concert was taking place, and it was bustling with many people. Dragon guided us through the areas where the kings lived, explaining everything so clearly that even I, who am not usually keen on history, found it fascinating, making the tour increasingly enjoyable. Furthermore, one of my companions had a leg injury. When we mentioned this, Dragon made thoughtful arrangements, such as changing the itinerary, which was originally entirely on foot, to include car travel. This was very considerate. The photography was also excellent; Dragon took many photos for us at every scenic spot, creating wonderful memories. The driver was also very careful and reassuring, making our travel comfortable. Dragon and the driver, thank you so much for a truly enjoyable time. As a personal impression, this tour was outstanding in every aspect: the guide, the content, the service, and the attentiveness. It was a particularly memorable experience during this trip to Korea. I highly recommend this tour to anyone planning a trip to Korea; it's an experience you definitely shouldn't miss.
interesting evening. tour guide Dragon was so incredibly knowledgeable. my son was really into Suwon history and he could answer all his questions while I was into kdramas and he knew all my shows and even pointed out a couple of kdrama location. the Fortress is stunning at night and our tour really highlighted it. great tour. worth every cent.
10/10 Amazing Night Tour of Suwon Hwasong Fortress! Enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable, Mr Shin made our experience amazing. He’d given us historical context in the car ride there, and once we arrived there, led us on the gorgeous tour of North and Eastern gates, outlining the design choices and historical significance. I would definitely recommend the tour of Suwon Hwasing Fortress! (His tips made our Seoul visit the following day even more amusing!)
It was a wonderful tour with a great night view. Im-san was also very good at Japanese, and we had a great time not only with the guide but also in the car. It was early March and the temperature was low, but we walked quite a bit so we didn't feel cold and enjoyed the tour. Thank you very much, Im-san.
Dear Mr. Park, thank you for everything. We were lucky to have a private tour with just my son and me since there weren't any other participants. We were thinking of visiting the Korean Folk Village afterward, but I'm glad we changed our plans and signed up for the night tour on a different day. Thank you for the photo spot recommendations and tips on how to take great pictures that we wouldn't have known on our own. We really enjoyed the tour. I would love to participate again if I have the chance.
Our tour guide Henry was fantastic and very patient - explaining the historical significance of the various design elements of the fortress, and showing us the best spots for photo-taking. Really appreciate his help for taking us on this journey to the past.
Dragon-san, thank you very much for everything this time. My first night in Korea was fulfilling. Dragon-san's fluent Japanese explanations were educational and kept me from getting bored before even going to the location. After arriving, you guided me to beautiful spots, creating wonderful memories. It was great to participate in the tour because you took us to areas that are usually difficult for us to go to on our own. It was a trip for just my mother and me, and she was very happy. I would appreciate it if you would help us again if we have the opportunity.
This was my first time booking a tour in Korea, and I went with my mother. I wanted to do the Suwon night tour, but unfortunately, it rained. However, even Suwon Hwaseong Fortress in the rain was amazing. The lighting was so beautiful, and it wasn't as hard to walk as I thought it would be. I didn't see everything, but the city of Suwon is very beautiful, with many stylish restaurants, and it's less crowded than Seoul, so I really like Suwon. Our guide, Mr. Park, was very fluent in Japanese and explained the history in an easy-to-understand way. I also thought he was a very considerate person. Even though his Japanese was so good, the way he said "gozaimasu" as "gojaimasu" was cute (lol). He told me to contact him if I had any problems during my trip to Korea, so I would definitely like to go to Gyeongju with Mr. Park as my guide again. Thank you, Mr. Park. Thank you to the driver as well.
Dragon was an incredible tour guide who provided an amazing touring experience of Suwon. very professional, and very informative of information regarding history, literature, and the overall development of the region and its impact.
We had an amazing walking tour that took us to the gates of the fortress. The lights made the night scene look incredible, we must have took 1000 photos. We also stopped for cake and K-drama sites along the way! Yongsoo is a knowledgeable guide, answered all our questions and let us move at our own pace. He even helped with our laundry the next day as we needed help using it!
