Established in 1929 as the Musée Blanchard de la Brosse, The History Museum of Ho Chi Minh City is one of the oldest and most significant museums in southern Vietnam. Located inside the lush botanical gardens (Saigon Zoo & Botanical Gardens) in District 1, the museum houses a vast collection of over 40,000 artifacts detailing the 4,000-year historical and cultural progression of Vietnam.
Architectural Highlight Indochine Architecture: Designed by French architect Auguste Delaval, the building is a textbook masterpiece of Indochinese style—harmoniously blending French colonial grandeur with classical East Asian elements (such as tile roofs, intricate wooden brackets, and dragon motives).
National Heritage: Recognized as a National Architectural and Artistic Monument.
