What to expect
Enjoy a 1.5-hour motorboat safari along the calm waters of Sri Lanka’s Madu River in Balapitiya. Explore mangrove tunnels, small islands and rich wetland wildlife, including birds, reptiles and fish. Highlights include Kothduwa Temple, Cinnamon Island, traditional mask-making, the Sekkuwa coconut oil demonstration, prawn-fishing kraals and Satha Paha Doowa. You may also enjoy optional fish therapy and learn about local heritage, cinnamon production and maritime history. Life jackets and safety instructions are provided.
