What to expect
Located just a 5-minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera, this experience combines two classic Kyoto traditions in one booking. Choose from a wide selection of kimono styles and receive professional kimono dressing, basic hairstyling, and matching accessories. Then join a 30-minute matcha tea ceremony led in English. Learn about Japanese tea culture and etiquette, watch a graceful tea-making demonstration, whisk your own bowl of matcha, and enjoy it with a traditional Japanese sweet. After the ceremony, keep wearing your kimono and explore Kiyomizu-dera, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, and the surrounding historic streets at your own pace. Enjoy sightseeing and take memorable photos in Kyoto's traditional scenery. Please return the kimono to the shop by 5:30 PM.

We loved dress up and having the tea ceremony. We could choose our own Kimono, had our hair done and looked gorgeous for the session. I had the support from Thao, who were kind and supportive and accommodating my needs. At the cerimony, our instructor were knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable. We had the whole day wearing the Kimono exploring the city and temples around. Super recommend!
A great experience and my daughters and I were made to feel very special with hair styling and dressing assistance. Tea ceremony was very informative. We enjoyed the authentic matcha and opportunity to take photos afterwards. A rainy day when we attended but we were still able to take a short walk to find a nice backdrop for some outside photos. highly recommended.
We had a wonderful experience at the matcha tea ceremony with kimonos in Kyoto! 🇯🇵🍵 The atmosphere was great, and it was a special opportunity to experience Japanese culture firsthand. Putting on the kimono was a lot of fun, and the tea ceremony was designed to be very interesting and authentic. We felt completely at ease and were able to take home wonderful memories and beautiful photos. An absolute recommendation for anyone visiting Kyoto who wants to enjoy a traditional Japanese experience! We would do it again anytime. 😊
