Guide
Sun Island Scenic Area is a small island in the middle of the Songhua River, located on the north bank of the Songhua River in Harbin. In early years, the Manchu people fished and hunted here. The Songhua River was rich in bream, and the Manchu name for this fish was very similar to the pronunciation of the Chinese word "sun". This has been passed down to this day, and it is now called Sun Island. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, Sun Island was developed and utilized as a naval camp, and later used by the Qing government as a base for naval inspections and training. Today, the natural scenery of Sun Island is exceptionally beautiful, and the landscapes within the park perfectly demonstrate the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. There are many European-style villa buildings on the island, which were summer resorts for Russians, and they are beautiful and full of charm.
