About The Legends in Motion by The Artist Village - When the Water Rose

When the Water Rose is an immersive walking performance that follows the hidden waterways of Bras Basah through botanical concoctions, live performance, poetry, music, and fashion. Directed by Pat Toh, this multisensory journey invites audiences to walk with unseen currents and encounter the body as a living archive of water, memories and place. As participants walk, drink, and move together, forgotten rivers, buried histories, and invisible ecologies resurface through collective imagination. Featuring collaborations with Ben Lim (Vagabond Mixology), Veronyka Lau, Zeha, Elden Zachery, Govin Tan, and Natalia Tan, the work offers a poetic invitation to embody the city through water.
