Takasaki, the capital of Gunma Prefecture, is only 50 minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen, yet it rarely appears in general travel guides. The Yanagawa area is a secret gathering place for locals after work, with narrow alleyways (yokocho) hiding izakayas and bars of various styles. This activity takes you through several selected bars, allowing you to experience the authentic Japanese “after-work culture.” After the night ends, check into the Takasaki Grand View Hotel and head to the SKY SPA on the top floor to enjoy a healing time in a Japanese-style public bath. The next day, start your morning with a wonderful buffet of Japanese and Western breakfast.
