Nanjing City Wall

The Ming City Wall of Nanjing is the longest, largest, and best-preserved brick and stone ancient city wall in the world. Construction began in 1366 and took 28 years to complete, with an original total length of approximately 35.2 kilometers, and 25.1 kilometers remaining today. The scenic area is divided into the North Line (Shencemen to Taipingmen section, including Taicheng), the South Line (Dongshuiguan to Jiqingmen section, including Zhonghuamen Barbican), and the East Line (Fuguishan to Lanqijie section). Visitors can simultaneously enjoy the unique landscape where mountains, water, city, and forest merge, along with 600 years of historical and cultural heritage.
