Chongyuan Temple

Chongyuan Temple was first built in the second year of Tianjian (503 AD) during the Southern and Northern Dynasties under Emperor Wu of Liang. It has a history of over 1,500 years and was completed just one year after Hanshan Temple. The rebuilt Chongyuan Temple is located on the scenic Yangcheng Lake Peninsula and boasts ten national records, including the tallest indoor Guanyin statue in the country at 33 meters and the largest single Daxiong Hall in China. It is a Buddhist holy site that embodies the unique style of a lotus Buddhist kingdom and a Guanyin Bodhimanda.
