From Hoi An: Coconut Forest Basket Boat, Dinner & Lantern Release

This is one of the best things you can do while in Hoi An. The spinning in coconut boat was thrilling, the food is delectable, and the lantern boat ride was humbling. You don’t want to miss this.

An absolute highlight, just pay attention to the walking directions! I booked the "From Hoi An: Coconut Forest Basket Boat, Dinner & Lantern Release" experience and it was incredible. The basket boat ride was so much fun and dinner was great. Releasing the lanterns on the water at the end was truly magical. The only minor thing is that after dinner, they dropped us off near the lantern area but had to walk a bit and got a little lost. Better guiding or clearer directions for that specific transition would make this absolutely perfect. Still highly recommend!

We happened to visit during Vietnam's National Day holiday, and many people were enjoying the coconut boats, creating a very happy and fun atmosphere. Dinner was also delicious, and the restaurant staff spoke excellent English and explained everything clearly. After dinner, the driver dropped us off on the outskirts of Hoi An, and we used Google Maps to walk to the Klook meeting point. The Klook staff then took us to the riverside pier to board a boat and release floating lanterns. The night view of the entire river was beautiful. This was a very rich and enjoyable itinerary.

We enjoyed the coconut boat trip and the dinner. We did not go for the lantern release as old town was super crowded, so we did not want to spend time getting/finding the vendor. Certainly a good half day trip which is value for money!

Our kids absolutely loved the boat spinning ride—it was definitely the highlight of our visit in Hoi An! We also enjoyed the lantern release, it was such a beautiful and memorable experience for the whole family.

we thought this would be fun- it didn’t disappoint! such a lovely way to spend our time…nice and cool on the water, fun party atmosphere. meal provided was yummy & plentiful, then a short stroll through the old town to the night lantern on the river- again, magical setting. not too long. Everyone is super friendly and made the trip seamless.

We participated in a half-day tour. We were picked up from our Hoi An hotel around 3 PM and first went to the Coconut Forest for a boat ride, with two people per boat, though the weather was quite hot. Afterward, we enjoyed dinner, and then proceeded to the Ancient Town on our own to release lanterns from small boats.
