Sydney Wombat Encounter & Southern Highlands With Korean Guided Tour

The cutest activity ever! 🥹 The naughty wombats come really close to people. Just be careful not to wear white clothes—they’ll make a huge mess! 😂 I do wish the lunch break were a little longer because there wasn’t much time to explore the local town. The winery is small, but the staff are incredibly friendly. If you’re brave enough to ask, they’ll happily let you try any wine you’re curious about. 🍷 Although the tour is mainly conducted in Korean, don’t worry if you don’t speak Korean (I don’t understand a single word either 😆). The tour guide is very friendly, always makes the meeting time clear, and is easy to communicate with. Highly recommend this wombat tour! 🐾❤️

It was a perfect trip! We saw and petted wombats, took wonderful photos, had time to explore small cozy towns, and went wine tasting. It was the perfect balance of activities and free time. I'll definitely recommend it to my friends! If you're worried about the tour being in Korean, it's not a problem at all; the guide speaks English, so you don't need any language skills to taste wine and enjoy the wombats.

Although my tour guide was Korean, this was my first time visiting Australia from Taiwan. I was a bit worried I wouldn't understand much Korean, but it turned out to be a really enjoyable trip. Besides touching a wombat, I also got to see super cute dingo puppies and baby kangaroos! The itinerary was perfectly timed. We arrived in Bowral around noon, and the tour guide provided a food map. I used AI in the car to decide which restaurant and dishes I wanted, so I could walk straight there after getting off. At the winery, I used AI to translate the tasting notes for the wine list, which helped me appreciate the different wine flavors. All in all, I'm very happy to recommend this experience to anyone visiting Australia for the first time!

Jin was the tour guide of today’s tour. He introduced the spots in English which gave me more understanding. he helped me to take photos of me because I am a solo traveler. He managed the time well and drove safely. In general he is a good tour guide. I really enjoyed the tour today😄

On Tuesday, September 3, 2026, we participated in the wombat experience organized by Zigzag. We departed at 7 AM from a street near the Sydney Aquarium in a mini-bus. After about two hours, we arrived in Goulburn to take photos with the giant sheep and had a beef pie for breakfast there. Next, we headed to Taronga Zoo. The zoo wasn't too big, but it had many animals, including various birds, sheep, horses, camels, ostriches, and most importantly, wombats. There was a wombat-holding experience, and the tour guide enthusiastically helped everyone take photos. We also saw quokkas, but they seemed to be sleeping, so we didn't get a good look at their faces. The farm owner was very welcoming and even brought a dingo for everyone to take pictures with, which was very thoughtful. After the zoo, we went to the town of Bowral, a very quaint, retro town. My girlfriend and I chose to eat brunch at a place called Cinnamon, which I personally found quite delicious. I ordered spaghetti bolognese and black coffee. After lunch, we went wine tasting at a Southern Highlands winery. We tasted a total of eight wines, each with its own unique character. My favorite was an NV Brut Cuvée, a sparkling white wine with strong effervescence that was absolutely delightful. After the wine tasting, we returned to Sydney, concluding a fulfilling day.

The itinerary was amazing! Although we couldn’t understand Korean, the tour guide explained everything in English and told us what we were going to do. We first had breakfast, then got to hold kangaroos! Finally, we enjoyed lunch and visited a winery. I really loved this experience, and the tour guide was so nice and even helped us take photos.

Very well planned trip. Great interaction with animals especially the intimate experience with wombat. Great thanks to our guide Joon. He made the extra mile providing explanation and details in English.

Our tour guide, Subcha was very friendly and considerate! Hugging wombat was on my bucket list for a long time and finally it came true! This tour was mainly explained in Korean, however, he kindly added English explanations for the things we shouldn’t miss, so would be no problem for non-Korean speakers :) Highly recommended😆

I participated in Jin's tour, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish! We made our first stop in Goulburn, where I had a delicious pie to fuel up before finally meeting the wombats I'd been dreaming of. Hugging a wombat had been a long-cherished dream of mine, so it was a truly blissful moment. I was also very happy to have made friends with other participants on the tour. Even though I don't speak Korean, the guides immediately rephrased things in English, and some of the Korean tour participants who spoke English helped interpret, so I didn't experience any inconvenience at all! I'd love to join again!

A nice trip with experience to rural parts of Australia. Exotic tour with close wombat encounters, and good brief visits to tranquil towns in Southern Highlands. Excellent scenery around wineyards. Tourguide Jin is nice and helpful, provide simple but useful English guidance to we non-Korean tourists. Hope to stay a bit longer in the wildlife park if time and itinerary allows.
