I booked the "Ancient China" guided tour at the National Museum through Klook this time, and I highly recommend Teacher Sang Chirong! Teacher Sang's explanations were clear and well-organized, not just a robotic recitation. She thoughtfully structured the tour, narrating the long history in a sequential and engaging manner. She didn't just describe the appearance of the artifacts; she also provided historical context and interesting anecdotes, making each exhibit come alive. The pace was comfortable throughout, and key national treasures were explained in detail, helping us understand the timeline of the Ancient China exhibition. If we had explored on our own, it would have been easy to get confused, so following the guided tour was much more rewarding. If you want an in-depth visit to the National Museum's "Ancient China" exhibition, I highly recommend booking Teacher Sang's guided tour.
This tour was absolutely fantastic! Since it's currently the off-season, we had two different guides, both of whom were incredibly professional. They made my Beijing trip a much deeper dive into the ancient capital of our motherland. The morning guide at the National Museum, [Guide Zhang Yang], was exceptionally professional. His explanations were easy to understand yet profound, and he paid close attention to the group, ensuring no one missed hearing or seeing the artifacts and explanations. He also kindly answered all our questions, for which I'm very grateful! The afternoon's Forbidden City guide was [Guide Ji]. Guide Ji's explanations were insightful and very entertaining, weaving together ancient and modern stories that kept the group laughing and engaged throughout. There was never a dull moment! Thank you to both professional guides. If I have the chance, I will definitely revisit and recommend this tour to my friends. Thank you!
Thanks to our guide Tom Wei's excellent explanations, we were able to fully understand all the exhibits. The itinerary was well-paced, allowing us to see many exhibits in a limited amount of time. It was truly great value for money!
Our tour guide, Mr. Gao Zhenyu, was incredibly meticulous and professional. He attended to the needs of every group member, and his explanations were lively and engaging. He led us to see many national treasures, which deepened our understanding and knowledge of Chinese history.
Thanks to the platform, we successfully visited the National Museum, which is usually very difficult to book. The museum houses numerous artifacts, and if you visit alone, you'd never be able to see everything; without a guide, it would just be a superficial glance. Our guide, Yang Tianrui, showed us particularly precious national artifacts that cannot be taken out of the country. Her explanations were insightful and engaging, covering historical stories, the cultural background of the era, and the reasons for their discovery. Although the National Museum was extremely crowded, Guide Yang always held up a tablet, using images to help everyone clearly see the details of the artifacts, and it was easy to stay with the group (because Guide Yang is tall, haha, you could spot her in the crowd). From the very beginning of the meeting, we could feel Guide Yang's enthusiasm. It was truly a pleasure to be part of this tour! Thank you, Guide Yang!
Our tour leader, Ms Yang Tian Rui, is very professional n knowledgeable. Gives a very good n clear explanation of the exhibits. Had a good experience n enjoyed her guide.
Our guide, Wang Wenjuan, from the National Museum, was professional and incredibly knowledgeable. She brought the otherwise dull museum to life, telling captivating stories about each treasure that truly drew us in. It's definitely worth joining a tour with her! The guide also showed us the best spots for photos, ensuring everyone could get great shots, and managed the time perfectly. Although the visit was short, it was enough to understand China's history from ancient times to the present.
Tour Guide Hu Baoguo: 5/5; Museum and Exhibition: 5/5; Museum Official Arrangements: 2/5. The night before the event, the leader added me on WeChat and then told me to arrive an hour early at the meeting point, which was no exaggeration. We were supposed to meet at 9 AM, and I arrived at the museum entrance at 8 AM to start queuing. I didn't get in until almost 9 AM. Then, we had to get headphones, and the tour guide asked for a 200 RMB deposit, or you could use your ID card as collateral, which seems to be standard practice in their industry. After that, we started queuing again, and it took about half an hour to an hour before we finally got into the exhibition. However, it was still packed with people, so there was no chance to appreciate the exhibits in detail. Basically, my entire morning was a queuing nightmare. But this is a museum issue, not a problem with this tour, so I still gave it 4 points; the experience was dragged down by the official arrangements. In summary, it's worth going once in a lifetime, but unless the museum's arrangements improve, I wouldn't go again.
