[Korean Support] Miyakojima Miyako Island Boat Snorkeling (Yabiji Tour)

Three guides accompanied us, and we traveled by boat for about 40-50 minutes to reach Yabiji Reef. Afterward, we snorkeled at about three different spots. The day I went was cloudy with somewhat strong waves, but the guides continuously ensured our safety, so I felt secure and was able to enjoy myself. They also took underwater photos and drone footage, which was great for documenting the trip. However, since the boat ride is quite long, I recommend that those prone to motion sickness prepare motion sickness medication in advance. Changing rooms and showers were also available for use after the tour, which was very convenient.

This is a tour you absolutely must try if you come to Miyakojima. You can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery, which is hard to find in our country, and since it's 100% Korean-friendly, you can have fun without any communication worries. I was debating between this and the turtle tour, but even considering the price, I'd choose this one.

It seemed that all the staff members accompanying us were quite young, as they didn't check if guests had arrived. Instead, they were busy chatting among themselves. The same applied during the tour. While youthful energy is good, it felt like once guests were ready and the boat was prepared for departure, the guides should also be getting ready. However, at the snorkeling spots, they were still jumping around and taking photos, treating it more like their leisure time than time dedicated to the guests. This overall unprofessional behavior was disappointing. It felt as if the staff were on vacation and just doing a temporary part-time job rather than working. Although one staff member seemed to take more photos because it was their last day, I believe it would have been more appropriate for the crew members to arrange that on their own time. Regarding the tour guide, while I understand the need for safety, it was difficult to comprehend why they made us snorkel so close together, making collisions with other people unavoidable. I've snorkeled in Japan at least once or twice every year, and this is the first time I've experienced something like this. The description didn't mention allocating so much time for photos, and it felt like more time was spent taking pictures than snorkeling, which was also disappointing. There were many solo travelers, but the staff didn't show a particularly friendly attitude towards them, such as greeting them warmly. Overall, it felt like I was awkwardly tagging along at a university club event. Out of the four-hour tour, actual snorkeling only lasted about an hour. Although the deep coral reefs themselves were a rare sight in Japan, the short snorkeling time was very regrettable. Both the value for money and the staff's attitude were generally very disappointing. I apologize to the hard-working staff, but it seems necessary to review their overall work attitude.
