Huangshan Scenic Area is located in Tangkou Town, Huangshan District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province. It is famous for its "Four Wonders": strange pines, grotesque rocks, sea of clouds, and hot springs. It also boasts other stunning landscapes such as rime, snowscapes, and sunrises, earning it the reputation of "You won't want to see other mountains after visiting the Five Great Mountains, and you won't want to see other peaks after visiting Huangshan." The scenic area has three gates: South, West, and North. Most tourists enter from the South Gate in Tangkou Town, taking a Xin Guoline shuttle bus to the front mountain (Ciguang Pavilion) or the back mountain (Yungu Temple). The main tour routes are divided into three parts: the front mountain, the back mountain, and the West Sea Grand Canyon. The front mountain offers majestic scenery, with famous attractions like Greeting-Guest Pine, Lotus Peak, and Tiandu Peak; the back mountain is picturesque and delicate, featuring wonders such as Shixin Peak, Flying Stone, and Monkeys Watching the Sea; the West Sea Grand Canyon is deep and spectacular, known as the essence of Huangshan. Conventional routes are often two-day tours, with options to ascend the front mountain and descend the back mountain, or vice versa; for a one-day tour, it is recommended to take the ropeway for a round trip. Accommodation on the mountain top is concentrated in areas such as Bright Summit, Tianhai, Paiyun Pavilion, and Baie Ridge. Bright Summit is suitable for watching the sunrise and is a popular choice for both sightseeing and accommodation.
