- Shanghai Palace Banquet has invested heavily in creating a panoramic immersive light and shadow dining show. A total of 160 projectors operate simultaneously. When each dish is brought to the table, the corresponding wonderful program is performed accordingly. The light and shadow jump in the plate, as if giving the dishes fresh life, they will tell the moving historical stories and profound humanistic feelings behind the dishes in an extremely vivid way, which makes people can't help but immerse themselves in it, and applaud this wonderful creativity and wonderful presentation.

I feel that this is a "must-try at least once" kind of experience when you come to China. Enjoy song and dance performances while eating. If you are feeling like it, you can even book their costume + makeup services (we didn't since if you book these services, it is recommended that you reach earlyyyyyy so that you dont have to queue up and wait for your turn for makeup, and you have more time to take photos). Booking through Klook saves the hassle of you needing to camp at Gongyan's wechat mini app to book seats since the seats are usually gone within the first few minutes, and with Klook vouchers, the prices are comparable to booking with Gongyan directly.
The food was delicious (especially the Jinhua ham and tofu soup, highly recommended!), and the itinerary was well-planned. This trip to Shanghai was definitely worthwhile! I'm already planning to fly back to Shanghai in Q4 to try new dishes.👍
This is a fantastic restaurant with a great ambiance from the moment you walk in. The food is also delicious, and each dish is introduced with a projection on a screen. The live performance was excellent, though a bit loud.

It was a great experience. The vegetarian meal I ordered was delicious, and the performance, which blended ancient and modern elements, was quite lively. There will be some obstructed views from all rows except the first. This time, I got a seat in the third row, which was a good experience. The fourth row felt a bit too far away.
The transportation was very convenient! I was extremely satisfied with the front-row seats we were given! The food was served at the perfect temperature! The performance was amazing! I love Chinese culture even more now.

Immersive light and shadow show + dining + live performance. The food was quite delicious. Tea and green plum wine can be refilled endlessly. Large luggage can be stored without any problem. 👍
