Reviews summaryIt's a 15-minute walk from Anguk Station. While strolling through the town, admiring the retro diners, barbershops, beauty salons, trendy cafes, select shops, and cute general stores, I quickly came upon a grand hanok gate. I arrived at a wonderful kimchi culture experience center! There was also a courtyard in front of the hanok-style residence. Upon entering the building, the instructor greeted us with aprons and omija tea. After receiving an explanation of the kimchi-making process, we moved to the adjacent cooking room. People from Asian countries, a woman from India, and two Japanese parent-child pairs learned how to make kimchi! Ingredients and seasonings were arranged on a long cooking table so that each person could start right away. With excitement and a bit of nervousness, we shredded the radishes while the instructor explained the next steps fluently in English and Japanese, making kimchi along with us. They sealed the finished kimchi neatly for us to take home as a souvenir, and I was happy that my family could enjoy it! Everyone, if you have the chance, you should definitely experience it. Experiential tours truly enrich the heart! When you come on a trip, you should do something that you can only do here.
Had so much fun making kimchi! The teacher was very welcoming, explains the steps with passion and even goes beyond with her photography efforts. We were served with iced tea (perfect during hot weather) prior to the session and ended it with a scrumptious kimchi pancake. Friendly activity for all ages (we have teenagers, adults and elderly in our group)
booked this for my mom and my sister and its a great bonding experience! my mom have always wanted to learn to make her own kimchi since we love having kimchi at home and what better way to learn than in korea. thank you so much! my mom and sister enjoyed and learned a lot!
The classroom is located near the Hanok Village. We took a taxi that day. The teacher was very kind to explain and would also help to take pictures. When we arrived at the scene, we sat down and drank a cup of peach tea to rest, put on a Korean-style apron, and then everyone washed their hands and took their seats. Start preparing to make Korean kimchi by yourself! The ingredients include 1/4 Chinese cabbage, radish, leek and seasoning. The teacher explained carefully in Korean and English, and taught everyone to make their own kimchi step by step. Finally, put the kimchi in a two-layer plastic bag and seal it. Write your name on it. You're done! So happy to take it home! After the kimchi is finished, enjoy the freshly made kimchi pancake ~ it is also delicious! The course is about 90 minutes, it is a great experience itinerary, it is worth recommending! 👍
so much fun! we brought back alot of kimchi but also ate some on the trip (to save luggage space) as we signed up for the one where you make about 2-3kg worth of kinchi per person!
This kimchi making class was such a memorable experience during our trip to Korea. The instructor was incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and she explained everything so well. We had a great time learning and enjoying the process, especially the free tea and delicious kimchi pancakes, which made the experience even more special. As a lovely bonus, she even gave us a coupon for free coffee in Bukchon. Thank you so much for your warmth and generosity!
Super loved the instructor! She's very pretty, nice, and accommodating with her husband. Has very good english. They served us a refreshing welcome drink. The house was so cute and clean. The lesson was well organized and with good structure. We had made our own kimchi, then packed and sealed for travel. After the hands-on course, they served got to us the yummiest kimchi pancakes which they cooked for us. Served us with hot tea after. It's definitely one of my favorite activity. 💗 Perfect mom and daughter bonding activity. Thank you for a wonderful experience. My daughter and I really enjoyed it! 💗💐
I participated with three friends. There were a lot of Japanese people that day. There was also a participant from France, and the instructor explained things to us in fluent Japanese and English. We made kimchi with just the right amount of work, took photos, and finished packing the kimchi while we were enjoying kimchi pancakes and delicious tea. The instructor's talk was fun and exciting, so I recommend you try it at least once ^_^ The apron was cute ♡
