Review for: Join-in Group Tour · With Basilica Access

Everything went well on this tour. I just feel like the itinerary was fast-paced, but I would still say it’s worth it. We had ample time to see the highlights of the trip. After the tour, you have the opportunity to spend your time in St Peter’s Basilica and explore the vast surroundings including the Pieta and souvenir shop.

If I could give this 10 stars, I would. Anna (tour guide) & Chris were amazing. Tour was through and efficient. A non-negotiable! Couldn’t recommend this tour enough :)

Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable about different pieces of historical pieces. It helped us understand how the history lines up in a chronological order. The tour is a bit rushed in my opinion, as I am someone who likes to take my time enjoying the art, but it is worth it to join this inclusive tour.

Review for: Semi Private Tour · With Basilica Access

I booked the semi-private guided tour and it was conducted by City Lights Tours. It was a memorable and intimate exp as there were only 4 of us. We had some flexibility with pacing, though there’s still a schedule to keep up with. If you’re running late, the agency will WhatsApp you, which was really helpful since their jacket with company name isn’t obv. It was raining when we arrived, so the text was the only reason we managed to find them. The meeting pt was at a random café near the Vatican so it can feel a little odd and unclear whether you’re in the right spot. When we arrived at 8am, the queues were already chaotic. Thankfully, our guide had a special standalone entrance and to go into St. Peter’s Basilica, so we bypassed the chaos! Inside, seeing the grounds relatively empty was special. And cos many displays have no explanations, having a guide makes a difference. Otherwise, it can feel like you’re just walking through someone’s private collection without context.

I had a really cool experience. The meet up point was easy to find. I find the guide not very knowledgeable and forgot a lot of details. He mentioned “i forgot” several times during the tour. I don’t remember many things he said but it’s quite a pleasant experience.

The tour guide provided a very detailed introduction, although the overall time was a bit rushed. After all, you can't see all of these architectural designs in two hours, but the tour guide did their best to introduce and condense the highlights.

Had a wonderful tour! Our guide studied archeology so you could see her light up when explaining the history and little stories related to the displays inside and outside the museum. She was also very attentive, making sure everyone stayed together and felt safe throughout the walk. A great balance of informative and enjoyable. Was happy with the smaller group size as well.
