Kyoto Otagi Nenbutsu-ji & Bamboo Forest Half-Day Private Guided Tour

It was only the guide and me. And she was the sweetest soul!! Ōtagi Nenbutsuji is a very relaxing and beautiful temple tucked away in the mountains and forest away from the center of Kyoto. It has a fascinating story, so please, do yourself a favour and book the tour!!! There's a bit of walking to do, so be prepared.

Incredible experience, best pictures taken by our very special guide and we even stopped for some delicious rice cookies and tea after going to one super special secret temple on the way to Arashiyama. Super knowledgeable and sweet guide with the best photography skills. You couldn't ask for more!

Rena was fantastic. She provided us with lots of insights about the area and sites we visited. She also helped us navigate the train ride back to our hotel. We thought the value was excellent.

The rainy morning did not stop this tour being amazing. My guide was friendly, informative and spoke very good English. I was the only person on the tour so it was very personal. My guide captured an amazing photo of me in the Bamboo Forest. The walk from the Otago Nenbutsu-ji Temple to the bamboo forest was beautiful too. The only improvement to this tour would be to include transport back to Kyoto, but overall I loved it.
