I found it very convenient, and the ferry staff were all very friendly. The outbound trip was crowded, but they only did spot checks for tickets. The return trip was perfectly timed with very few people. Besides checking tickets, they even offered everyone coffee or tea. Excellent!
It's very convenient if you purchase tickets in advance. Just go to the Waterbus station in Rotterdam to board the boat. After boarding, staff will scan your QR code. You can use the ticket for a round trip.
