Reviews
Participated in the 8:00 AM departure tour. The operator arrived about 10 minutes before the meeting time, and confirmation of participants began. Confirmation was just saying "Hi" when your name was called from the list. Once all participants gathered, we moved to a car a short distance away. The car was a 12-seater minivan. We departed almost on time and arrived at the Pink Ganesha around 9:40 AM. Upon arrival, we were told the departure time for the return. This time it was scheduled for 10:45 AM. About 1 hour was sufficient to see the Pink Ganesha and its surroundings. When we returned to the car, all the other participants were already on board. I think maybe they were hot and just ready to go.
I used this service because it's quite far from Bangkok city if you try to go on your own. It takes about an hour to get there via the expressway, and at the destination, you have a little over an hour of free time before heading back, which also takes about an hour! It's a very helpful system! There were plenty of enjoyable spots around the Pink Ganesha, such as local markets and Cafe Amazon, so you can have fun even after seeing the Ganesha!
I had no plans the next day, so I quickly made a reservation for the morning and was able to ride a large bus to see it. It was vast, so the time felt a little short, but it was worth seeing. There was a restaurant at the place where the bus returned, and I was satisfied after ordering the local specialty, Kop Khun Kha curry. After that, I took the subway to the market in Mochit and had a satisfying day of shopping.
The meeting place was easy to find, and the person who explained was kind. It's a place that would be difficult for me to get to on my own, so I was very grateful that they took me there. At first, I thought the sightseeing time would be short, about an hour, but since there wasn't much to see, I thought it was enough time. Unfortunately, the area is under maintenance in June, as shown in the photo.
There are other Pink Ganesha tours available, but since my schedule was tight, I chose this half-day tour. I was a bit worried because it was advertised as an English-speaking driver only, but it turned out there was a Japanese-speaking coordinator, and all the tour participants were Japanese, which put me at ease. This was the only tour I took during my stay, but having a car made things so much easier! Without having to worry about transfers, I was able to enjoy the scenery from the car window and do some research, making it a very productive use of my time. Although it cost a bit, I'm glad I participated. We had plenty of time to explore the destination in just one hour after arriving. Please note that the local restrooms are not flush toilets and do not have toilet paper, so it's best to use the restroom before the tour or bring your own toilet paper.
I joined this tour because I wanted a simple tour with just round-trip transportation and an easy-to-find meeting place, without a guide. There were no particular inconveniences, and I was dropped off and picked up both ways. I would use this service again if I have the opportunity. You'll need to arrange for your luggage to be delivered or stored at your hotel before participating, so it's best to board light.
I chose this tour because it's a bit of a hassle to get there on your own, but I didn't want to stop at unnecessary tourist attractions. I was satisfied with the result. The stay was about an hour, which felt just right, almost like it wasn't quite enough. The pick-up and drop-off location was very convenient, making it easy to plan what to do after returning, which was great.
Japanese is understood, and the air conditioning in the car wasn't too strong, making it comfortable! The 40-minute stay was plenty of time!
I heard that getting back on your own can be a hassle, so I joined the transfer plan. I wanted to see as many tourist spots as possible, so the fact that it was just a morning tour was also appealing. The meeting place was easy to find, and I felt secure knowing there were staff members who could speak Japanese.
Since the duration is 1 hour, it's fine if you only want to see the main attraction, but it might be a little short for those who want to enjoy the surrounding shops (street stalls). We were short on time and only wanted to see Ganesha in the morning, so this tour was good for us. Regarding the meeting point, other tours provided a map with photos via email, which was helpful, but this tour didn't. For someone like me with a poor sense of direction, a map with photos would be reassuring. As we are traveling by train in an unfamiliar country, I would appreciate it if all tours could provide this.
