What to expect
Embark on a Zodiac Whale Watching Adventure from Telegraph Cove on Vancouver Island. This intimate tour, limited to 12 passengers, offers a chance to observe orcas, humpback whales, sea lions, seals, dolphins, otters, and bald eagles in their natural habitat. A seasoned captain navigates the high-speed, open-air, rigid-hull inflatable Zodiac, reaching speeds up to 55 km/h (35 mph). Participants receive all-weather exposure suits, hats, gloves, and goggles for comfort. With a whale sighting success rate over 95%, a lifetime Whale Sightings Guarantee allows guests to join another tour free of charge if no whales appear. Departures take place from the Telegraph Cove Adventure Centre, next to the Whale Interpretive Centre.

We came at the start of the season literally 1 May itself and sighted 1 whale but our guide more than made up for it by sharing information about the other whales that frequents the area usually. He was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable it gets me excited too. I was also glad I chose the zodiac option I didn’t experience any motion sickness throughout. The safety suit provided also looked very professional and kept us warm enough for the windy trip out. My only complaint was the location was very hard to get to but probably inevitable for the quiet charm.
