What to expect
Ever wondered what it’s like to be a zoo keeper?
Spend the day assisting our dedicated keeping staff as they show you what it takes to look after some amazing animals.
From preparing the animals’ feed, cleaning habitats and visiting off-limits areas, during the ‘Keeper for a Day’ experience you get to experience life as a zoo keeper.
Every day is different at Adelaide Zoo so you never can tell which incredible animals you’ll get up close to as part of the tour. From giraffes and maned wolves to penguins, reptiles and meerkats, there are many pawesome animals you’ll meet as part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Awesome and once in a lifetime experience being a zookeeper for a day. We got to experience alot of things that would not have been possible if we did not participate in this activity. Safety was paramount and the staff really did their best to make sure we enjoyed ourselves while being safe. Will recommend to animal lovers. Especially love the feeding sessions!!
Went with my partner. It was so fun!! We enjoyed it and made lots of good memories together such as when we fed the giraffes close up. The keepers were very knowledgeable about the animals that they are taking care of. Highly recommend this activity. I will go again next time at monarto zoo
