Borjomi, Rabati Fortress & Vardzia Full-Day Guided Tour

its truly a legendary. long travel to get to destination but very worth it. the scenic view and the history combined. definitely recommended.

The long journey was more tiring than expected, but I had a great time thanks to the guide's informative explanations.

David is our tour guide and he is very knowledgeable and nice and went with us all throughout the trip especially Vardzia. It is memorable and fun. Its just a bit tiring because of hike and the travel itself.

The amazing cave city is the highpoint of this trip, the other two stops were a bit underwhelming, (Borjomi is just a park) especially in low season. The guide, as on other tours in Georgia, was over-explaining everything. He was very knowledgeable, but we were a captive audience for him and he used up a lot of valuable visiting time with detailed historical lectures. At least 3 visitors didn't really understand English and another 3-4 had very little interest in long lectures. We also had loud electronic dance music all the way back home. Apart from that everything went very smoothly and professionally.

The Borjomi-Vardzia-Rabati tour provides ample viewing time, but the 500km round trip takes 17 hours. The 3.5-hour return journey in the evening can be tiring due to decreased stamina. If you have another opportunity, I recommend staying overnight in Borjomi after visiting Vardzia and Rabati, and then hiking back the next day.

A good experience, I'll come again next time.
